END GAME
FOR OCEAN
PLASTICS.

SeaChange Ocean Solutions LLC has the solution to get ocean plastic off the planet.

The rapidly-growing plastics problem is currently unmanaged, and is in desperate need of a solution. SeaChange has repurposed technology developed 25 years ago to deal with hazardous waste into a mobile response unit that can permanently eliminate plastic pollution and keep it out of our oceans. Within a year of reaching our funding goals we can be eliminating 15 TONS of plastic per day, while showing the world a better model for dealing with plastic waste.

Every dollar contributed can get 3 pounds of plastic off the planet. You can make a difference today.

REMOVE OCEAN PLASTICS FROM THE WASTE STREAM + RESTORE CORAL REEF.

The mobile plasma-enhanced gasification technology we’re reconfiguring to work in remote areas breaks down the hydrocarbon structure of plastics at temperatures up to 18,000°F. Thats like dropping it on the surface of the Sun.

The end result is a glass that’s completely inert,
non-toxic, and safe for marine life and people - and can be used to restore coral reef or build more climate-resilient infrastructure.

Turning plastic pollution into a glass that’s as safe for the environment as beach sand.

PEM glass:

Silicon dioxide 70%, calcium and magnesium dioxide 15%, sodium oxide 12%, iron oxide 2%, aluminum oxide 1%.

A sample of beach sand from Lagos, Nigeria, Africa:

Silicon dioxide 53.16%, aluminum dioxide 19.4%, calcium oxide 4.7%, magnesium oxide 2.3%.

THE OCEAN IS BEING CHOKED BY PLASTIC

Worldwide, we produce ~400 million tons of plastic per year. Roughly 10 million tons end up in the sea. That’s a dump truck full of plastic added to the ocean every minute.

SeaChange Ocean Solutions mission is to eliminate the unsorted, low-value plastics that cannot be economically recycled, and the abandoned fishing gear (ghost nets) entangling wildlife.

Those materials account for 60% of the waste currently being found on beaches around the world - and is most at risk of being burned or lost in the environment in areas lacking formalized waste management infrastructure.

"The sea, the great unifier, is man's only hope. Now, as never before, the old phrase has a literal meaning: we are all in the same boat."
